About Nankai University
Nankai University, affectionately known as “Nankai,” is a prestigious institution located in Tianjin, China. As a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, it is renowned for its academic excellence and rich history.
Establishment and History
Established in 1919, Nankai University was founded by the renowned educators Yan Xiu and Zhang Bailin, with the vision of educating the nation. The university’s campus was tragically destroyed during the Japanese invasion in 1937, leading to its relocation. In 1938, Nankai University merged with Peking University and Tsinghua University to form the famous Southwest Associated University in Kunming.
